Due to its Government refusing to look at the facts about drugs.
As Science PUSHES to heard, by perpetually demonstrating the soundness of their studies that SHOW the value of many illegal drugs in treating depression and anxiety, that DRUG POLICIES are much more harmful than ILLICIT DRUGS.
Victorian Police continue to traumatise those that are caught with small amounts of cannabis (even legally prescribed), through strip searches and sanctions, that prevent future employment and overseas travel.
Victoria police refuse to see the value in saving lives of drug users by IGNORING the STATISTICS and interstate and overseas long-term programs success rates of supervised injecting centres (SIC’s) and pill testing at clubs and festivals.
The “DRUGS ARE ILLEGAL BECAUSE THEY ARE DANGEROUS” IS MISINFORMATION!
Yet it continues to inform how the community see drug policy and so how the Victorian Police and Government continue to treat drug users.
Drugs aren’t the problem: it’s our drug policies that are causing the most harm.
