About the flyers

Thanks to the ‘Investing in Queensland Women Grant 2021’ we asked our community what information they would find useful and then we got to work and developed relevant and non-judgemental harm reduction resources for diverse Queensland women and people. The flyers include information that clients expressed they wanted to know about substances such as their effects, drug checking, safer using and harm reduction strategies.

The drug info flyers are a series of educational resources that have been developed collaboratively by healthcare workers and people who use drugs for their peers and the wider community. The role of Hi-Ground is to provide practical, evidence-based, unbiased information to assist people to make educated choices and to promote harm reduction, community care, and wellbeing. In an unregulated market it’s impossible to know the purity or dose of any substance. Taking drugs from an unregulated market carries its own risk, and you can educate yourself and practice harm reduction to reduce this risk. Hi-Ground acknowledges that people use drugs. Therefore, they need access to resources and education to minimise harm, in line with: Queensland Women’s Health Strategy. Australia’s Preventive Health Strategy & National Drug Strategy.
